Mission San Francisco de la Espada

As we look at mission after mission, we are amazed by the effort it must have taken to build these incredible structures! Next in our tour was 'Mission San Francisco de la Espada'. This one is actually the oldest of the San Antonio Missions. Built in 1690 near present day Weches, Texas over 250 miles away, it was moved to its current location in 1731. The church was completed in 1756.
