MCTS Season 2 Episode 4

Hey everyone! I just uploaded another riveting episode of Maritimers Chasing the Sun 😀
In this episode #4, we spend a wet, rainy Christmas week in Gulf Shores Alabama before moving on to Robert, Louisiana for the new year!

Historic Mandeville Louisiana

We had some time to kill so we explored the Mandeville, LA lakefront area along Lake Pontchartrain. What a beautiful area! Between the historic homes, the green spaces, and the people watching, it was quite an enjoyable afternoon.

These beautiful homes in Mandeville's historic district date back to civil war time. The vast majority of the homes are actually raised about 10 feet off the ground level. They weren't always like this though. Because they sit in a high risk, flood prone area, that was hit hard by Katrina, the government offered financial assistance to raise the homes. Now, sitting as high as they are, with large staircases leading to their front doors, the homes look so much more grand then they would have before!

Global Wildlife Center

Visited the 'Global Wildlife Center' in Folsom, Louisiana today...what an incredible experience! 4000 animals free to roam wherever they please, throughout a 900 acre refuge! Healthy, safe, and lots of room for the animals to wander, in a very natural habitat. Such a beautiful sight!

MCTS Season 2 Episode #3

Hey guys, I just uploaded our latest video of us spending time in Golf Shores, Alabama! Not exactly an action-packed episode, but here is episode #3 in all its glory!

Jus' chillin'

Nothing much to report on lately...it's been raining here in the New Orleans area so we've been just chillin' in the RV watching YouTube and Netflix. 

Did laundry today. That's about the most exciting thing we've done over the past two days. 😄
