Going Home

And just like that, our winter is done! Check out our final episode of the season!

  

So the trip home to Saint John, New Brunswick was pretty uneventful, so really nothing much to report on. We are pretty familiar with the roads from Tennessee to Saint John as we’ve driven that route many times in the past. So, I didn’t waste any time getting home. Basically four days on the road with no sightseeing.

- Day #1 we drove from Memphis on the western edge of the state to Knoxville TN on the eastern edge of the state where we stopped for the night at Tennessee Valley Winery. *mental note, this winery (and vineyards) is really nice. We need to stop in again!

- Day #2 was a fairly long day as we drive into the night to reach Maryland, overnighting at the Walmart SuperCenter in Hagerstown.

- Day #3 was another long day on the road as we drove from Hagerstown to the Cabela’s store in Scarborough, Maine for the final overnight stop of the trip.

- Day #4 was a bit shorter as we only needed to drive through Maine into New Brunswick.

MCTS Season 2 Episode 14

I was finally able to upload our latest video...albeit a couple days late! We've had some trouble lately finding reliable internet! Seems like we're in a bit of a dead zone!

Anyway, in this episode, we finish exploring Austin then move north a short distance to a Harvest Host location in Temple TX - Walker's Honey Farm. While at Walker's, we also visit the historic town of Salado!

Memphis, Tennessee

Yesterday, we left Arkansas and drove to Memphis, Tennessee. We'll be spending a couple days here at the Agricenter RV Park. This will be our final stay at an actual campground. We'll probably 'boondock' all the way back to Saint John.

I did a little (very little) sightseeing around Memphis and took a few pictures before getting ready for the trip home. I decided I should at least find Graceland! But I never did a tour...a full guided tour is expensive...like $174.00 expensive! So I skipped it and just got some photos of the mansion from the street. Also Elvis' plane across the street from the mansion. As I was heading back to campground I noticed a day use park named in honour of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. That's cool! A lot of references to Dr. King in this town as this was where he delivered his final speech. He was assassinated the next day.

Waco, Texas

After having quite an enjoyable stay at Walkers Honey Farm it was time to head out. We had reservations at an Army Corp of Engineers park at Lake Waco, but it wasn't far to go. Maybe an hour. So we took our time leaving Walkers, went back into their store to pick up a few last minute items then it was back on road.

We got the trailer set up at Midway Park and settled in for awhile. Of course, one can't simply go to Waco without looking for anything related to HGTV's Fixer Upper couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines. So we went exploring and managed to find some properties that are owned or had been owned by the Gaines and also a couple places they renovated.

MCTS Season 2 Episode 13

Our latest video is now up on YouTube...in this episode, we relocate to Austin, Texas and get set up in McKinney Falls State Park. We do lots of biking at first, then the weather turns cold and rainy so we end up killing time at Walmart and IKEA because we really didn't feel like doing much of anything else 😄

Waco, Texas

This may be our first experience with Corp of Engineers parks, but it's definitely not our last...I see a lot more in our future!

We are set up at the Midway Park on Lake Waco in Waco, Texas...gotta love this view from our door!
